It is interesting how life brings people together. I have know Jennifer all my life and never knew she was published in magazines and newspapers, until Robin, whom I work with. Both Author and Illustrator are great people with great passion for life, no wonder this book had touched my heart.

The book is a favorite in our house as my two children always ask to have the "grandpa" book read to them. The writing is great as are the illustrations. What a beautifully encouraging way to communicate with our loved ones who are no longer with us! Lovely book!

I wanted to let you know that I'm sharing your book, Balloons for Grandpa, with a colleague of mine. Her mother has been doing poorly and her 4 year old son has started to ask about death and dying. I let her know that you wrote a book with death and dealing with it as a theme and let her know I'd bring it for her. So I did. She's read it to her son several times and has asked to hold on to it to read it again as her son thinks more about the book and asks more questions. She's said it has helped her (and her son) deal with death a little more easily.

UPDATE:My colleague just returned Balloons for Grandpa with a thank you note. In the note she wrote, "It has been a joy to share your sister's book with my son as we explore what dying might mean. He now likes to tell stories with a child named Charlie as the main character."

This book owns a special place in my heart...It serves as an everlasting tribute to one of my favorite uncles.

Jenn, you did a wonderful job with this one! I purchased 4 books and gave them as gifts to the aunts and my mom, Charlies' sisters, and they were overcome with emotion. They all send their love, thanks and appreciation.

I think this book is a very important tool to be used when dealing with grief in both children and adults. The story showed sensitivity to this difficult time in our lives, and an avenue to reach the loved ones we hold forever in our hearts. Bravo, Jenn!!! A job well done...
